Gold rises above USD 5,000 per ounce, Silver holds above USD 100

Gold crosses USD5,000 per ounce on its way up, while Silver holds above USD 100 per ounce.

For indication, the local Thai Gold (96.5% purity, approx 23.16 karat) mid price is around THB 74,750 (Gold Traders’ Association) for gold bars (96.5%) only – jewellery typically incurs a higher spread.
